Men’s Golf Finishes 11th at Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational

FARMINGTON, Pa. – The University of Delaware men's golf team carded a three-round score of 9-over par 873 to finish in 11th place at the 19-team Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational, hosted by West Virginia University. The tournament was played at the par-72, 7,526-yard Mystic Rock Golf Course at Nemacolin Resort.
Additionally, Caleb Itzoe played in the individual tournament, the Shepherd's Rock Individual, finishing tied for 14th in the 30-person field. Play was held at the par-72, 7,515-yard Shepherd's Rock Golf Course at Nemacolin Resort.

The Blue Hens will return to the course in a couple of weeks when it makes the short trip to Westfield, N.J. for the Georgetown Intercollegiate. The two-day, three-round tournament will be held Oct. 13-14.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blue Hens totaled 42 birdies and three eagles over the three-round tournament.
- Areephun was under par in each of his first two rounds, carding six birdies over the first 18 holes and two birdies and an eagle in the second round. He finished with 11 total birdies.
- Iampongsai had a consistent three rounds, recording eight birdies, including three while shooting an even-par 72 on Tuesday.
- Wu had four of his seven birdies in the final round as he turned in a 1-under par 71.
- Matthew Homer totaled 11 birdies and two eagles over the three rounds.
- Itzoe used a big third round, carding a 3-under par 69 with five birdies, to move up eight spots into the top 15. He finished with 10 birdies over his 54 holes.
