2014 SEASON (GAME BY GAME)
2014 SEASON Played in 19 games and started in 18 contests during his senior season • did not record a goal, but tallied two assists on the season • registered assists in UD's wins over St. Bonaventure and Iona • launched four total shots • played in 76 games in Delaware career, which is the second most in program history • led a UD defensive unit that allowed 1.1 goals per game during the 2014 campaign • 3rd Team All-Colonial Athletic Association • CoSIDA Academic All-American nominee • member of first Delaware team to win CAA regular season title.
2013 SEASON
Earned third team All-South Atlantic Region honors by the NCSAA as a junior defender • second team All-Colonial Athletic Association selection • saw action in all 20 games while getting the starting nod 19 times • helped anchor a defensive unit that recorded six shutouts while recording a 1.18 goals against average • helped lead the Blue Hens to one of their finest seasons in school history with a record of 14-5-1 and an at-large berth in the NCAA Tournament for head coach Ian Hennessy • member of the Colonial Athletic Association Academic Honor Roll.
2012 SEASON
Started in all 19 games for the Blue Hens on defense as a sophomore • named University of Delaware Alumni Association Team Most Valuable Player • recorded six shots for the year • team went 4-11-3 under Hennessy, losing five games by a single goal.
2011 SEASON
Played in 18 games and started 15 as a freshman defender • contributed three shots on goal • UD Team Sportsmanship Award winner • key member of Blue Hen defense that held opponents to 1.35 goals per game and recorded seven shutouts, including two in the post-season • team enjoyed one of its finest season in school history, going 13-6-4, capturing the CAA Tournament title, and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for Hennessy.
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB
Played for three different club team, most recently for the Under 19 CD Laguna (Spain) as a right back • also played for U19 CD Tenerife in 2009-10 and U17 Real Madrid in 2008-09 • played at a high international level, winning Madrid’s league and an international tournament in Ferroli, Italy, both with Real Madrid • Real Madrid also finished third at the Augusta National Tournament and third at an international tournament in Matera, Italy • took second in Tenerife’s league with CD Tenerife • played 2011 with U19 CD Laguna at Division of Honor Level.

Ignacio Martín ("mar-teen") Fernandez-Pacheco • son of Francisco José Martín Medina and Maria Cruz Fernandez-Pacheco Guillen • born Aug. 17, 1993 • honor student as an international relations major with a minor in French at Delaware • has one younger brother, Eduardo Martín, who is a junior player at Brown University and led the Bears to the NCAA Tournament in 2012 • enjoys playing guitar and drawing in his spare time • always looks to the sky before stepping on to the field • would like to play soccer at the professional level • chose Delaware for its team atmosphere where everyone helps everyone like a family • lists younger brother as his biggest influence for encouraging him to play soccer on a local team at age seven.
