AT DELAWARE
Earned four letters during her Blue Hen career • ranks fourth in UD history with 197 games played • made 181 starts in her career, all but one in leftfield • finished her career ranked sixth in Blue Hen history with 12 home runs • batted .254 with 104 hits, 70 runs scored and 57 RBI.
2016 SEASON (GAME BY GAME)
Served as team captain • started all 51 games in leftfield for the Blue Hens • batted .250 with 27 hits, 16 runs scored, 11 RBI and three homers • ranked fifth on the team with 16 walks • recorded two-hit games against Central Connecticut, Albany, UNCW and Mount St. Mary’s • belted homers vs. North Carolina A&T (inside the park), UNCW and Towson.
2015 SEASON (GAME BY GAME)
Played in 45 games while making 39 starts, all in leftfield • batted .266 with 17 hits, 15 runs scored and nine RBI • went 2 for 2 with two runs scored and an RBI at UMES • belted home runs against Toledo and North Carolina A&T • her lone triple of the season came at College of Charleston • hit safely in 8 of 12 games from Mar. 25 through Apr. 15 • one of four team captains.
2014 SEASON
Started all 48 games in leftfield for the Blue Hens • tied for second on the team with three home runs, ranked third with 18 RBI, and tied for third with 16 runs scored • went 3 for 3 with three runs scored, five RBI and a grand slam during the first game of a doubleheader against UMES • was 2 for 2 with two runs scored, a double and an inside the park homer in the nightcap victory over the Hawks • hit a two-run homer and singled home the winning run in the eighth inning during a triumph at Towson • went 2 for 3 with three RBI, two runs scored and a triple against Monmouth • finished 3 for 3 with a triple and a run scored vs. Robert Morris • earned the UD Team Sportsmanship Award and Blue Hen Award for the second consecutive year.
2013 SEASON
CAA All-Rookie Team selection • appeared in 53 games during her rookie year while making 43 starts, all but one in leftfield • batted .301 during the season and tied for the team lead with four home runs • tied for third on the Blue Hens with 23 runs scored and ranked fourth with 28 RBI • hit safely during each of the first six games of the year • went 3 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored at Saint Peter’s • finished 2 for 3 with a three-run homer during the 11-1 victory over Army • hit another three-run shot in the 15-6 win over Norfolk State • was 2 for 3 with a three-run homer and two runs scored during the 4-1 triumph over George Mason • recorded a hit in nine of the final 12 games of the season • named to the CAA All-Tournament Team • earned the UD Team Sportsmanship and Blue Hen Awards • named National 5 & 10 Best of the Blue Hens Athlete of the Week on May 13.

Shelby E. Jones • born Oct. 19, 1993 • daughter of Rick and Karen Jones • has a twin brother, Shane • father played baseball at Claremont McKenna • grandmother, Carolyn Schuler Jones, won two gold medals at the 1960 Olympics in the 4x100 medley relay and 100 butterfly • health behavior science major at Delaware with a minor in public health • worked as a recreation leader with the city of Lake Forest over the summer.
