Ben Bamforth

Ben Bamforth joins the cross country/track & field program serving as an assistant coach ahead of the 2023-24 season. Bamforth will primarily work with the cross country program, as well as the mid and long distance runners for track & field.Â
Prior to his time with the cross country and track & field program, Bamforth spent the past year working at the University of Delaware Ice Arena as a supervisor.Â
In addition, he spent the past two seasons as a track & field coach with Wilmington Friends School. In Wilmington, Bamforth was the head coach of the middle school team, and an assistant coach with the high school teams.
Bamforth is no stranger to working with UD athletics. He spent time as a student manager for Delaware men's basketball team for the 2019-2020 season, and was the equipment manager manager for the football team in 2021.
Bamforth spent a year competing for Winthrop University cross country/track & field program before to transferring to UD. As a youth runner, he was an 9x XC All-American, winning one AAU National Title in 2007. He was also an All-State runner in DE in 2016.
The Lewes, Del. native graduated from UD in 2021 with a bachelor's of science degree, majoring in sports management.
