Conroy Fires 72 on Sunday as Delaware Men's Golfers Finish 14th at Barnabas Health Intercollegiate

BEDMINSTER, N.J. -- Blue Hen junior Ben Conroy fired an even par 72 on Sunday as the University of Delaware men's golf team finished 14th out of 17 teams this weekend at the Barnabas Health Intercollegiate hosted by Seton Hall University.
After posting a 313 team score on Saturday, the Blue Hens recorded a 315 on Sunday to finish with a two-round score of 628. James Madison captured the team title with a two-round total of 586, while Seton Hall was 10 shots behind with a 596 score. Temple (598), Longwood (602) and Long Island (606) rounded out the top five.
Conroy (at right) had by far the best day by a Blue Hen on Sunday with his even par 72 on the par 72, 7,014-yard River Course at Fiddler's Elbow Country Club. Conroy, who carded a seven over 79 during Saturday's opening round, finished in a tie for 21st place in the individual standings with a seven over par 79-72-151.
Delaware senior Stephen Scialo carded an eight over par 80 during his final round and tied for 47th place with a 14 over par score of 78-80-158. Sophomore Corey Wagner also finished tied for 47th at 14 over par, as he followed his 77 on Saturday with a nine over par 81 on Sunday to end up 77-81-158.
Freshman Fraser Graham shot a 10 over par 82 during his second round and finished in a tie for 71st place with a 17 over par score of 79-82-161. Senior Greg Matthias also carded an 82 on Sunday, finishing in a tie for 73rd place at 80-82-162, 18 over par.
Chris Wellde of James Madison, Brandon Park of Seton Hall, Paul Carbone of Temple, and Ross Sumner of Lafayette each tied for first place by finishing the tournament at even par.
Delaware closes out its 2011 fall season on October 23-25 when the Blue Hens compete in the ODU Outer Banks Invitational at Kilmaric Golf Course in Powells Point, N.C
