Delaware Women Rowers Win Three Events in Home Scrimmage vs. Marist, Temple, and LaSalle

Delaware hosted Temple, Marist, and LaSalle in a four-team exhibition in its second competition of the fall. The Blue Hens will close out the fall exhibition season Nov. 5 at the Head of the Occoquan Regatta in Fairfax, Va.
“All of the boats had outstanding performances,” said Delaware head coach Laura Slice. “The two varsity eights taking first and second place in the afternoon was just awesome. The novice eights looked really in control and powerful going down the course. The varsity four and novice four faced very stiff competition in the afternoon, but they held their own in the battle down the course. Overall, it was a great day for Delaware.”
Delaware's Varsity Eights A crew of coxswain Hillary Levitz, Bethany Callaway, Rachael Conway, Lauren Kanaskie, Lauren Kolsky, Julia Cagney, Tori Drach, Virginia Hall, and Alex Smart posted a time of 17:00.6 in the morning race to take first place, easily besting runner-up Marist. Delaware's B team of coxswain Dianna Levin, Holly Dodge, Meredith Murphy, Bethany Porter, Rachel Boudart, Jenny Kohler, Ally Crossman, Angela Quinn, and Calla Cissel finished fourth in the seven-team race with a time of 18:01.8.
In the afternoon Varsity Eights race, Delaware's A team of coxswain Levitz, Callaway, Conway, Cagney, Lauren Kolsky, Kanaskie, Drach, Hall, and Smart won with a time of 17:45.0 to dominate the five-team field. Delaware's B team of Levin, Dodge, Murphy, Kohler, Boudart, Porter, Crossman, Quinn, and Cissel was right behind in second place with a clocking of 18:44.2.
Delaware picked up its third first place finish of the day in the Novice Eights race where the A group of coxswain Emma Dolson, Denise Cirelli, Catherine Manner, Kate Flood, Corey Holloway, Jennifer Majcher, Emma Kulek, Christy Bugher, and Lily Guttentag rowed to a winning time of 19:13.6 to outlast the five teams. Delaware's B team of coxswain Jamie Noce, Jessica Horney, Nina Lopez, Missy Lamm, Jessica Grant, Molly Gardner, Kelly Kauker, Liz LiPuma, and Shannon Bell was fourth in 21:13.4.
In the Varsity Fours race, Marist A took first place in 19:53.1 followed by Marist B (20:25.6) and Delaware (231:35.9).
In the Novice Fours competition, Marist won with a time of 20:42.4 to down Delaware's team of coxswain Haley Diverio, Catherine Manner, Corey Holloway, Kate Flood, and Taylor Daley, which posted a time of 22:31. LaSalle was third in the three-team race.
