RICHMOND, Va. -- University of Delaware junior Ben Conroy has earned Colonial Athletic Association Men's Golfer of the Week honors, the conference announced Wednesday.
Conroy, a Durham, Conn. native (Coginchaug Regional), finished in second place in the individual standings this weekend at the Navy Fall Classic, leading the Blue Hens to the team title as they defended the 2010 team championship they also claimed in Annapolis.
Conroy, a transfer from Coker College playing in just his second tournament as a Blue Hen, carded a three under par 71-68-139 over the weekend at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club's par 71, 6,528-yard course. His round of 68 on Sunday was the lowest in the field on the day.
Conroy shared CAA Men's Golfer of the Week accolades with VCU's Marc Dobias, who finished in fourth place with a 68-69-69-206 at the Marshall Invitational.
Conroy and the Blue Hens return to action on September 24-25 when they compete in the Cornell Invitational held at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course in Ithaca, N.Y.
