Delaware Men's Golfers Third, Scialo Ninth Following First Day of Cornell Invitational

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The University of Delaware men's golf team posted a two-round team score of 591 on Saturday and sits in third place out of 14 teams following the first day of the Cornell Invitational.
Columbia leads the team standings with a two-round score of 578, one shot ahead of Binghamton at 579. The Blue Hens are third 13 shots back, while Colgate and Saint Bonaventure are tied for fourth as both squads posted 597 scores on Saturday.
Delaware senior Stephen Scialo (at right)fired a two under par 70 during his opening round on the par 72, 6,890-yard Robert Trent Jones Golf Course before carding a three over par 75 during his second round. Scialo finished the day tied for ninth place in the individual standings with a one over par 70-75-145.
Sophomore Corey Wagner shot a one under par 71 in his first round before a three over 75 in the second, as he ended the day tied for 12th place with a two over par 71-75-146. Junior Ben Conroy is tied for 22nd place after carding a five over par 74-75-149.
Freshman Fraser Graham recorded a 73-79-152, eight over par, to finish the day tied for 36th place, while senior Greg Matthias is tied for 44th place after carding an 11 over par 73-82-155.
Carter Rufe of Lafayette carded a five under par 70-69-139 on Saturday and holds a four-shot lead over three other players.
The third and final round of the Cornell Invitational will be held Sunday, with action beginning at 8 a.m.
