Blue Hen Men's Golfers 14th Following First Day of Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate

VERONA, N.Y. -- The University of Delaware men's golf team posted a two-round score of 621 on Sunday and sits in 14th place following the first day of the season-opening Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate.
Baylor leads the tournament with a 563 team score, three shots of Purdue which is second at 566. Tournament host Missouri sits in third place at 567, Bowling Green is fourth at 571, and TCU rounds out the top five with a 572 score.
Delaware senior co-captain Stephen Scialo(at right) led the Blue Hens by finishing the day tied for 34th place in the individual standings with a five over par 73-76-149 on the par 72, 7,105-yard Kaluhyat Course. Junior Ben Conroy, competing in his first tournament as a Blue Hen, fired an eight over par 71-81-152 and is tied for 46th place heading into Monday's third and final round.
Sophomore Corey Wagner is tied for 63rd place after carding 77-82-159, 15 over par, while senior co-captain Greg Matthias shot 85-78-163 and is in 68th place at 19 over par. Freshman Fraser Graham enters Monday's action tied for 72nd place after he recorded an 88-80-168, 24 over par, during his first collegiate action.
Kyle Jones of Baylor and Julien Brun of TCU are tied for the individual lead as both players sit at seven under par with one round to play.
Monday's final round begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Kaluhyat Course.
