Delaware Men's Golfers Move Up One Spot, Finish 13th at Season-Opening Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate

VERONA, N.Y. -- The University of Delaware men's golf team posted a 313 team score during Monday's final round as the Blue Hens moved up one spot to finish in 13th place at the season-opening Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate.
Delaware finished with a three-round team score of 934, edging out Saint Bonaventure, which placed 14th at 939. Baylor easily captured the team title with an 853 score, finishing 11 shots ahead of second place TCU, which posted an 864 score. Purdue and tournament host Missouri tied for third place at 866, while Bowling Green was fifth at 881.
Blue Hen senior Stephen Scialo shot a seven over par 79 during Monday's round on the par 72, 7,105-yard Kaluhyat Course, finishing tied for 36th place in the individual standings with a 12 over par 73-76-79-228. UD junior Ben Conroy carded an eight over par 80 during his final round and posted a 16 over par 71-81-80-232 to tie for 50th place.
Sophomore Corey Wagner recorded a seven over par 79 on Monday, tying for 59th place with a 22 over par score of 77-82-79-238. Senior Greg Matthias (at right) posted the best round of the day by a Blue Hen, as he fired a five over par 77 and finished in 63rd place at 85-78-77-240, 24 over par.
Freshman Fraser Graham carded his lowest round of the tournament on Monday with a six over par 78, as he finished in a tie for 69th place with a 30 over par 88-80-78-246.
Julien Brun of TCU earned medalist honors with an eight under par 70-67-71-208, edging by two strokes his teammate Daniel Jennevret, who carded a six under par 70-70-70-210.
Delaware is back in action this Saturday and Sunday when the Blue Hens compete in the Navy Fall Classic in Annapolis, Md.
