Delaware Women's Rowing Closes Out Fall Exhibition Season at Head of the Occoquan Regatta

FAIRFAX, Va. -- The University of Delaware women's rowing team closed out its 2012 exhibition season Saturday by posting two 10th place finishes at the Head of the Occoquan Regatta on the Occoquan River at Sandy Run Regional Park.
Delaware had three crews take part in two events during the meet. Delaware's A team finished 10th in the Novice Eights meet and Delaware's B team placed 26th in the same race. The Blue Hens also finished 10th in the Varsity Eights competition.
Navy won the Novice Eights race with a time of 18:25.73 and was followed by Duquesne, George Washington, Georgetown, Army, George Washington B, West Virginia, George Mason, George Mason B, and Delaware. Delaware's team, led by coxswain Sarah Tenenbaum, rowed to a time of 21:12.62.
Delaware's B team in the Novice Eights race, led by coxswain Curtira Williams, rowed to a time of 25:21.79 to place 26th overall.
Delaware also placed 10th in the 34-team Varsity Eights race as the crew led by coxswain Jamie Noce rowed to a time of 17:57.57. Georgetown won the race in a time of 17:04.93 followed by Navy, George Washington, Navy B, Duquesne, Saint Joseph's, George Mason, Duquesne B, Georgetown, and Delaware.
