University of Delaware Men's Golfers Finish in 20th Place at C&F Bank Intercollegiate

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- The University of Delaware men's golf team fired its second consecutive round of 306 on Tuesday to finish in 20th place out of 29 squads at the C&F Bank Intercollegiate hosted by William & Mary.
Missouri led the entire tournament and captured the team title with a three-round score of 870. UNC Greensboro and Old Dominion each tied for second at 872, while Francis Marion came in fourth at 880 and Radford rounded out the top five at 882.
Blue Hen sophomore Corey Wagner (at right) fired a three over par 74 on Tuesday on the par 71, 6,831-yard River Course at Kingsmill Resort, finishing in a tie for 43rd place with a 12 over par score of 71-80-74-225. Wagner recorded a one over par 37 during his front nine which included a birdie on 3, before a two over par 37 during the back nine.
Junior Ben Conroy carded a five over par 76 during his final round and finished in a tie for 63rd place at 77-75-76-228, 15 over par. Freshman Niño Rosal posted a six over par 77 on Tuesday, finishing in a tie for 71st place with a 16 over par score of 75-77-77-229.
Senior Greg Matthias carded an eight over par 79 during his final round, tying for 88th place in the individual standings with an 18 over par 74-78-79-231. Classmate Stephen Scialo also tied for 88th place with an 18 over par 75-76-80-231 after carding a nine over par 80 during Tuesday's round.
Kamito Hirai of Winthrop took home medalist honors with a two under par 72-70-69-211, while Jace Long of Missouri and Sebastian Backlund of Francis Marion each tied for second place two strokes behind.
Delaware returns to action on Apr. 2-3 when the Blue Hens compete in the Villanova Wildcat Invitational at White Manor Country Club in Malvern, Pa.
