Delaware Finishes Second at Manor Intercollegiate; Rosal Ties For Third in Individual Standings

FARMVILLE, Va. -- The University of Delaware men's golf squad tied for the lowest team round of the day with a 298 score on Saturday as the Blue Hens finished second out of 10 teams at this weekend's Manor Intercollegiate hosted by Longwood University.
The Blue Hens, who fired sub-300 rounds during all three rounds of the tournament, finished with an 887 score, placing only behind team champion Seton Hall which finished at 880. Longwood placed third at 892, George Washington was fourth at 897, and Saint Bonaventure rounded out the top five at 911. Delaware has now finished among the top three in four of five tournaments this spring, including second place finishes at the Wildcat Invitational and Manor Intercollegiate.
Blue Hen freshman Niño Rosal carded a four over par 76 during Saturday's final round on the par 72, 7,246-yard course at The Manor Golf Resort, finishing in a tie for third place in the individual standings with a one over par 72-69-76-217.
Junior Ben Conroy had the best round of the day by a Blue Hen on Saturday, as he carded a one over par 73 for the third consecutive round and finished in a tie for sixth place with a three over par 73-73-73-219. Senior Stephen Scialo fired a three over par 75 during his final round, ending in a tie for 14th place with a nine over par score of 76-74-75-225.
Senior Greg Matthias carded a nine over par 81 on Saturday to finish with a 17 over par 78-74-81-233 to tie for 29th place, while sophomore Dan Costenbader also tied for 29th place after shooting a two over par 74 on the day to finish at 81-78-74-233, 17 over par.
Dylan Jensen of Longwood earned medalist honors with a tournament record seven under par score of 77-63-69-209, while his teammate Kenny Leech finished four shots back.
The Blue Hens will take next weekend off before hosting the Colonial Athletic Association Championships on April 27-29 at the Wilmington Country Club.
