Blue Hen Men's Golf Team To Compete in Five Tournaments During 2012 Fall Season

NEWARK, Del. -- The University of Delaware men's golf team will compete in five tournaments this fall as the Blue Hens released their 2012 fall schedule on Wednesday.
Delaware again opens its fall campaign at the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate held at Turning Stone Resort Golf Club in Verona, N.Y. on Sept. 2-3. The following weekend the Blue Hens will compete in the Navy Fall Classic in Annapolis, Md. on Sept. 8-9, looking for their third consecutive team title at the tournament.
After a weekend off, Delaware heads to Williamsburg, Va. to participate in the Joe Agee/William & Mary Invitational at Colonial Heights Golf Course on Sept. 23-25. Three days later the Blue Hens will compete in the George Mason Patriot Invitational at Laurel Hill Golf Club in Lorton, Va. on Sept. 28-29.
Delaware wraps up its fall schedule on Oct. 21-23 when the Blue Hens will take part in the Old Dominion/Outer Banks Invitational at Kilmaric Golf Course in Powells Point, N.C.
Delaware, led by 12-year head coach Mike Keogh, is coming off a successful 2011-12 season in which the Blue Hens posted six top-five finishes on the year and placed among the top 10 in eight tournaments.
UD will be led by senior captain Ben Conroy, who was the Blue Hens' top finisher in three events last season when he led the team with a 75.21 average round. Sophomore Niño Rosal(at right), who was third on the squad with a 76.53 stroke average, and junior Dan Costenbader, who placed fourth with a 76.56 average round, also return for the Blue Hens.
