University of Delaware Men's Golf Team Opens 2012 Fall Season This Weekend at Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate

VERONA, N.Y. -- The University of Delaware men's golf team will open its 2012 fall season this weekend when the Blue Hens compete in the Fourth Annual Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate.
The tournament, which is hosted by the University of Missouri, will again be played on the par 72, 7,105-yard Kaluhyat Course in Verona, N.Y. which was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. Two rounds will be played on Sunday while the third round will be played Monday, with action on both days beginning at 8 a.m.
In addition to Delaware and Missouri, the 13-team field also includes Army, Canisius, Central Connecticut State, Cincinnati, Cleveland State, IPFW, Louisville, Loyola, Memphis, St. Peter's and Villanova.
The Blue Hens return five letterwinners from last year's squad that captured the Navy Fall Classic team title and posted six top-five finishes on the season.
Delaware will be led by senior captain Ben Conroy (at right), who led the Blue Hens with a 75.21 average round and tied for the team lead with four top-10 finishes in 2011-12. Junior Dan Costenbader, who ranked fourth on the team with a 76.56 average round, and classmate Corey Wagner, who averaged 76.88 shots per round, will also contribute for Delaware.
Sophomore Niño Rosal also returns for the Blue Hens after ranking third on the squad with a 76.53 average round, as well as sophomore Fraser Graham who appeared in seven tournaments for UD during his rookie season.
This fall the Blue Hens will also compete in the Navy Fall Classic on Sept. 8-9, the Joe Agee/William & Mary Invitational on Sept. 23-25, the George Mason Patriot Invitational on Sept. 28-29, and the Old Dominion/Outer Banks Invitational on Oct. 21-23.
