Blue Hen Men's Golfers Finish Fourth, Braden Shattuck Fifth at Joe Agee Invitational

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- Blue Hen freshman Braden Shattuck continued the impressive start to his UD career by finishing fifth in the individual standings while leading the University of Delaware men's golf team to a fourth place finish in the teams standings this Monday and Tuesday at the Joe Agee Invitational.
Shattuck (at right), who carded a 72 and a 71 on Monday, fired a one over par 72 on Tuesday on the par 71, 6,837-yard course at The Williamsburg Club to place fifth with a two over par 72-71-72-215. The tournament marks the second straight top five finish for Shattuck, who tied for third place at the Navy Invitational on Sept. 8-9.
Blue Hen senior Ben Conroy recorded a four over par 75 during his final round, ending in a tie for 20th place with an 11 over par 75-74-75-224. He finished tied with UD freshman Kyle Martin, who also came in 20th after shooting a nine over par 80 on Tuesday to finish at 76-68-80-224.
Sophomore Niño Rosal, who carded a five over par 76 on Tuesday, ended the tournament with a 14 over par 76-75-76-227 to tie for 25th place in the standings. Junior Dan Costenbader posted an eight over par 79 during his final round, finishing in a tie for 46th place with a 25 over par score of 77-82-79-238.
Chase Wilson of High Point earned medalist honors with a seven under par 67-67-72-206, edging Callum Tarren of Radford by one stroke.
High Point also took home the team title, posting a three-round total of 861 to win the 11-squad invitational. Radford finished one shot behind at 862, while tournament host William & Mary came in third at 873.
The Blue Hens, who recorded a 302 team score on Tuesday, placed fourth at 889, while Elon and LIU-Brooklyn tied for fifth with identical 896 team scores.
Delaware is right back in action this Saturday and Sunday when the Blue Hens compete in the George Mason Patriot Invitational at Laurel Hill Golf Club in Lorton, Va.
