University of Delaware Men's Golfers Finish Fifth, Ben Conroy 10th at CHAMPS/Patriot Intercollegiate

LORTON, Va. -- The University of Delaware men's golf team finished fifth out of 13 teams while Blue Hen senior Ben Conroy placed 10th in the individual standings this weekend at the CHAMPS/Patriot Intercollegiate hosted by George Mason.
The Blue Hens entered the day in second place in the team standings before firing a 304 score on Sunday to slip to fifth place with a three-round total of 880. Missouri easily claimed the team championship with an 849 team score, while Penn (873), Villanova (874), Hofstra (877) and Delaware rounded out the top five.
Conroy (at right) carded a three over par 74 on Sunday on the par 71, 6,857-yard Laurel Hills Golf Course to finish in 10th place in the individual standings with a two over par 73-68-74-215.
Freshman Braden Shattuck fired a five over par 76 during his final round, finishing in a tie for 19th place at 74-70-76-220, seven over par. Sophomore Niño Rosal tied Conroy for the lowest round of the day by a Blue Hen, as he also recorded a three over 74 to finish in a tie for 22nd place with an eight over par 72-75-74-221.
Delaware freshman Kyle Martin carded a nine over par 80 during his final round, tying for 38th place with a 13 over par 77-69-80-226. Playing as an individual, junior Corey Wagner fired a seven over par 78 on Sunday, finishing in a tie for 68th place with a 25 over par 82-78-78-238.
Sophomore Fraser Graham carded a 13 over par 84 during his final round, ending in 78th place with a 75-88-84-247, 34 over par.
Jace Long of Missouri took home medalist honors with a four under par 73-69-67-209, while Michael Kania of Villanova and Emilio Cuartero of Missouri each finished two shots back.
The Blue Hens take three weeks off before concluding their fall season on October 21-23 at the Old Dominion/Outer Banks Invitational in Powells Point, N.C.
