Freshman Shanice Johnson Tabbed CAA Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week

NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware freshman Shanice Johnson (Chester, Pa.) was named the Colonial Athletic Association Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.
Johnson, a graduate of Cardinal O'Hara High School, was a starting forward for the Blue Hens (1-0) in her collegiate debut Friday evening at Rhode Island. Johnson contributed 11 points and four rebounds in 24 minutes of play in Delaware's 64-43 victory over the Rams. She also added four steals and went 4-for-7 from the field (.571) in the win.
Delaware hosts Temple for its home opener Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Bob Carpenter.
