Second Varsity Eights Crew Leads University of Delaware Rowers with Third Level Final Appearance at Knecht Cup

The Second Varsity Eights crew of coxswain Hayley Diverio, Denise Cirelli, Jennifer Majcher, Kaitlin Flood, Ally Crossman, Bethany Porter, Corey Holloway, Meredith Murphy, and Lily Guttentag placed third in its heat (7:12.39), finished sixth in the semifinals (7:09.82), and advanced to the third level final where it placed fifth for a 17th overall finish with a time of 7:07.55.
The Blue Hens also competed in the Varsity Fours, Novice Fours, Varsity Eights, and Novice Eights events but did not advance past the heats in any of those four competitions.
The Delaware Varsity Fours crew of coxswain Molly Gardner, Alexandra Cruz, Angela Quinn, Danielle Lawler, and Shannon Bell placed third in its heat with a time of 8:23.97 to tie for the Hens' top heat finish.
Also for Delaware, the Novice Eights crew of coxswain Sarah Tenenbaum, Annie Waskover, Erin Dunne, Haley Northrup, Anne Livingstone, Naomi Balodomas, Kathleen Garrity, Megan Kirby, and Samantha Noel placed fourth in its heat (7:55.0); the Varsity Eights boat of coxswain Jamie Noce, Shannon Taylor, Calla Cissel, Jennifer Kohler, Catherine Manner, Bethany Callaway, Sarah Slotoroff, Holly Dodge, and Alexandra Smart was fifth in its heat with a time of 7:07.11; and the Novice Fours tandem of coxswain Curtira Williams, Teresa Kontos, Sharon Dominguez, Jennifer Boone, and Katherine Sneddon was sixth in its heat with a time of 9:20.47.
Delaware will return to action Apr. 27 when the Blue Hens travel to Lewisberry, Pa. to compete against host Bucknell, West Virginia, and Connecticut on Lake Pinchot.
