University of Delaware Women Rowers Post Three Top 10 Finishes at Occoquan Sprints

The Junior Varsity Eights crew placed fourth in the finals, the Novice Eights boat finished eighth overall with a third place finish in the petite (consolation) final, and the Novice Fours finished in ninth place.
Also for the Blue Hens, the Varsity Eights crew placed 12th overall with a sixth place finish in the petite final, the Varsity Fours A crew finished 15th overall, and the Varsity Fours B team posted a 22nd place finish.
The Junior Varsity Eights crew was the Hens' top finisher as the crew of coxswain Hayley Diverio, Lily Guttentag, Meredith Murphy, Corey Holloway, Bethany Porter, Allyson Crossman, Kaitlin Flood, Jennifer Majcher, and Denise Cirelli placed third in its heat and then rowed to a time of 5:58.35 to place fourth in the finals. Navy captured first place with a time of 5:48.00.
The Novice Eights crew of coxswain Sarah Tenenbaum, Samantha Noel, Laurell Clark, Megan Kirby, Alexandra Cruz, Anne Livingstone, Haley Northrup, Erin Dunne, and Annie Waskover was third in its heat and then placed third in the petite final with a time of 6:30.67 to place eighth overall. Grand Valley State was the overall winner with a time of 6:05.30.
The Novice Fours crew of coxswain Nicole DeGisi, Samantha Noel, Jess Cooper, Katherine Sneddon, and Alexandra Cruz rowed to a time of 7:34.10 to finish third in its heat and ninth overall. VCU was the overall winner with a time of 6:07.40.
In the Varsity Eights competition, Delaware's team of coxswain Jamie Noce, Alexandra Smart, Holly Dodge, Calla Cissel, Jenny Kohler, Catherine Manner, Bethany Callaway, Sarah Slotoroff, and Shannon Taylor placed third in its heat and then posted a sixth place finish in the petite finals with a time of 6:40.60 to finish 12th overall. Navy won the overall title with a clocking of 5:49.90.
Delaware had two boats in the Varsity Fours competition with the A boat of coxswain Molly Gardner, Rachel Boudart, Danielle Lawler, Angela Quinn, and Shannon Bell finishing fourth in its heat and 15th overall with a time of 7:50.61 and the B boat of coxswain Cutira Williams, Kathleen Garrity, Jennifer Boone, Sharon Dominguez, and Jeannie Kontos placing fifth in its heat and 22nd overall with a time of 8:13.88. The overall winner was Navy with a time of 5:32.20.
