Blue Hens Drop 1-0 Contest to Monmouth

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The University of Delaware women's soccer team dropped a close contest to Monmouth, 1-0 Sunday afternoon at the Great Lawn Stadium.
Monmouth junior Alexa Freguletti put the Hawks up, 1-0 with less than five minutes remaining in the first half. The Blue Hens were unable to tally a score within the second half and eventually fell to Monmouth, 1-0.
Senior goalkeeper Jessica Levy tallied seven saves in the contest while freshman Michelle McEnroe lead Delaware with three shots on goal.
“Losing today was tough. We created some good scoring chances and continue to make progress every day we have the opportunity to play. We are looking forward to practice on Tuesday and matching up with Rutgers on Friday.”

- Freshman Michelle McEnroe received her first collegiate start against the Hawks this afternoon.
- Mikala Kin saw her first collegiate action in today's contest.

- Delaware returns to the pitch Friday, Aug. 30 at Rutgers for a 7 p.m. contest.
