Delaware Captures Navy Doubles Championship Behind Jonjic? and Shuren

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Blue Hens were led by junior Danea Jonjic' (Split, Croatia/Croatia Natural Sciences and Technical) and freshman Arielle Shuren (Montebello, N.Y./Suffern) Sunday as the University of Delaware women's tennis team completed play at the Fifth Annual Navy Blue & Gold Invitational.
The duo wrapped up the weekend with the Flight A Doubles title after defeating LIU Brooklyn's Marine Dans and Sanne Louwers, 8-6. The pair is now 6-1 on the year and have won four straight.
Jonjic' also saw Dans in the Flight A singles semifinals with Dans coming out victorious, 4-6, 6-3, 10-8.
Delaware had two other players advance to singles play Sunday as seniors Christina Harrington (Millersville, Md./Severna Park) and Kim Milla (México City, México/CONAMAT) each fell in Flight C semifinals. Towson's Barbora Vasilkova defeated Harrington, 6-3, 7-5, while Navy's Claudia Mackenzie picked up a 6-1, 6-2 win over Milla.
HEN SCRATCHINGS
· Danea Jonjic' improves her career doubles record to 22-16 while Arielle Shuren is 6-1 in her rookie campaign.
· Delaware is 34-21 in singles play and 24-6 in doubles action this fall.
