Delaware Finishes Fall Play at ITA Regional

BLACKSBURG, Va. – Arielle Shuren (Montebello, N.Y./Suffern) took an early lead, but it wasn't enough as the University of Delaware women's tennis freshman eventually fell in action on day two of the USTA/ITA Atlantic Regional Championships, held at Virginia Tech's Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.
Shuren, UD's last remaining competitor in the Regional, opened afternoon play with a 3-6 set one victory against VT's Raluca Mita before falling in three sets. Mita finished the match with 6-3, 6-3 wins to advance to the next round.
Shuren was Delaware's lone competitor in the qualifying singles rounds.
