Blue Hen Women's Golf Team To Host Second Annual University of Delaware Invitational This Weekend in Rehoboth Beach

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. -- The University of Delaware women's golf team will look to defend its team title this weekend when the Blue Hens host the second annual University of Delaware Invitational at the Rehoboth Beach Country Club.
The tournament will be held on the par 72, 6,180-yard course at RBCC, featuring two rounds on Saturday and one round on Sunday with action beginning at 8 a.m. on both days. The nine-team field includes the Blue Hens, Central Connecticut State, Delaware State, Georgetown, LIU Brooklyn, Navy, Penn, Richmond and Towson.
Andi Slane currently leads the team with a 77.60 average round, while freshman Rachel Lee ranks second with a 77.75 average.Junior Vimonthip Benjasupawan, the current CAA Women's Golfer of the Week, is third with a 78.13 stroke average.
Delaware captured the first annual Delaware Invitational last year, winning by 16 strokes over second place Penn. The Quakers' Sophia Chen earned medalist honors after defeating Blue Hen sophomore Grace Chua in a playoff.
Following the tournament, Delaware will conclude its fall season on Nov. 2-4 when the Blue Hens compete in the FIU/Pat Bradley Invitational in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
