Amanda Terzian Leads Field, Blue Hen Women's Golfers Third After Opening Day of Delaware Invitational

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. -- UD senior Amanda Terzian leads the individual standings while the Blue Hen women's golf team is third in the team standings on Saturday following the first day of the University of Delaware Invitational.
Terzian carded a six over par 74-76-150 on the par 72, 6,180-yard Rehoboth Beach Country Club course, ending the day leading the 55-player field. Terzian holds a one-shot lead over Jessica Lydia of Richmond, who fired a 77-74-151 on Saturday.
Junior Vimonthip Benjasupawan is the second Blue Hen who finished the day in the top five, as she recorded a nine over par 75-78-153 to finish the day tied for fourth place.
Delaware, which captured the team title at least year's inaugural tournament, posted team scores of 313 and 315 during its two rounds of the day to finish third out of 10 squads with a 628 score. Georgetown leads the way with a 610 total, while Penn is second at 624. The Blue Hen “B” squad sits in eighth place at 655 following its rounds of 324 and 331.
Vitoria Teixeira paced the “B” team by firing a 14 over par 78-80-144 to end the day tied for 11th place in the individual standings. Rachel Lee carded a 17 over par 81-80-161 during her day to tie for 17th place, while Grace Chua is tied for 22nd place after carding an 18 over par 81-81-162.
Andi Slane and Nathalie Filler each fired 20 over par scores of 83-81-164, to tie for 28th place, in addition to Baralee Theinthong, who recorded an 86-78-164 while playing as an individual. Emma Sills is tied for 36th place following her 23 over par day of 83-84-167, while Annie Bowlsby carded a 24 over par 82-86-168 to tie for 39th place. Marie Bogenez, who fired a 28 over par 83-89-172, is tied for 46th place in the standings.The third and final round of the Delaware Invitational will begin on Sunday at 8 a.m.
