University of Delaware Women's Golfers in 11th Place Following First Day of Diane Thomason Invitational

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Delaware women's golf team posted rounds of 338 and 322 on Saturday at the Diane Thomason Invitational hosted by the University of Iowa, ending the day in 11th place with a two-round total of 660.
Illinois leads the 13-team field with a 626 score, while South Dakota State is second at 627 and the host Hawkeyes are third at 628.
Blue Hen freshman Rachel Lee carded a 16 over par 85-75-160 on the par 72, 6,142-yard Finkbine Golf Course, finishing the day in a tie for 20th place in the individual standings. Junior Vimonthip Benjasupawan is tied for 44th place following her 21 over par score of 83-82-165, while sophomore Vitoria Teixeira fired a 22 over par 85-81-166 to finish Saturday's action tied for 48th place.
Sophomore Grace Chua is tied for 61st place after carding a 25 over par 85-84-169 on the day, while junior Nathalie Filler sits in 74th place following her 32 over par 88-88-176.
Dana Gattone of Illinois holds a one-shot lead over two players after she recorded a six over par 76-74-150 during the day.
The third and final round of the tournament will begin at 10 a.m. Eastern on Sunday.
