University of Delaware Freshman Jack Gianniny Named Colonial Athletic Association Men's Golfer of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. -- University of Delaware freshman Jack Gianniny has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Men's Golfer of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.
Gianniny, a native of Pittsford, N.Y. (Pittsford Sutherland), tied for second place at the Binghamton Fall Invitational on Sunday and Monday, leading the Blue Hens to a second place finish in the team standings.
Gianniny fired a two under par 72-70-142 on the par 72, 7,104-yard Links at Hiawatha Landing course, while his second round 70 tied for his lowest of the year. Gianniny has appeared in all four tournaments this fall, and leads the Blue Hens with a 73.30 average round during his rookie season.
Delaware is off to an outstanding start this fall, finishing in second place during three of its opening four tournaments. Gianniny is the second Blue Hen to earn CAA Men's Golfer of the Week accolades this season, along with fellow rookie Erik Dulik who was honored on Sept. 10.
Delaware closes out its 2014 fall campaign on Oct. 19-21 when the Blue Hens compete in the Old Dominion/Kilmarlic Invitational in Powells Point, N.C.
