Women's Lacrosse Sophomore Elyse Andrews Recognized by University of Delaware Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences

NEWARK, Del. – Sophomore Elyse Andrews (Wilmington, Del.) was honored this past weekend for her dedication in the classroom with the University of Delaware Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences Alumni Sophomore Award.
Dr. Michelle Parent, Ph.D., MT(ASCP) presented Andrews with the award, which recognizes two sophomore students in the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences who have demonstrated excellent academic achievement and the promise of being future leaders in the health care professions.
Kateri LinvilleAndrews is a medical diagnostic major and is minoring in Spanish and biology. In addition to being a member of the Delaware women's lacrosse program, Andrews is involved with Delaware Christian Athletes, Alpha Phi Omega, Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Making Doctors and Physician Assistant Club while volunteering with the Ronald McDonald House, Gilpin Elementary School, UDance, Exceptional Care, Habitat for Humanity and the Food Bank amongst many other organizations.
As the organizational leader of the team, Andrews is responsible for setting and enforcing academic standards and encouraging community service efforts. She leads by example by maintaining an exemplary 3.9 GPA as an honors student.
