Delaware Women's Lacrosse Announces Fall Schedule

The fall opener will not be an easy one for the Blue Hens as Delaware is scheduled to face off against Syracuse and Cornell on Sept. 27 in Ithaca, N.Y. The Orange are coming off of a season where they finished 21-3 overall with all three losses coming to National Champion Maryland, including losses in the ACC and NCAA Finals.
The following weekend, UD will travel to Annapolis, Md. as a part of the Navy Play Day. The Blue Hens will take part in four 45-minute contests against Harvard, Saint Joseph's, Vanderbilt and Boston College. BC finished the 2014 campaign ranked seventh nationally and fell to Syracuse in the NCAA quarterfinals.
The Hens will host their lone play day on the Delaware Practice Fields that Sunday, Oct. 5 with a 1 p.m. contest against Temple.
Two weeks later, UD faces Lafayette, Rutgers and Princeton with the NCAA Tournament competitor Tigers serving as host in central New Jersey on Oct. 19.
Delaware wraps the fall slate at Penn's Franklin Field on Oct. 25 versus three NCAA Tournament opponents in No. 10 Penn, r/v Albany and CAA Champion Towson, who also received votes in the final poll.
Caitlin McCartney (Doylestown, Pa./Archbishop Wood) and juniors Casey Lyons (Georgetown, Ontario, Canada/Berkshire) and Erin Wein (Middletown, Md./Middletown). Delaware has high expectations for 2015 and looks to build upon recent successes after returning to the CAA Tournament in 2014 for the first time since the 2009 season.
