Women’s Lacrosse Cruises Past Kennesaw State, 16-3

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware women's lacrosse team dominated from start to finish, cruising to a 16-3 victory over Kennesaw State on Thursday afternoon in an Atlantic Sun (ASUN) Conference game at Delaware Stadium. With the win, the Fightin' Blue Hens have now won eight-straight games and improve to 9-4 overall and 4-0 in ASUN play, while the Owls fall to 7-7 on the season, and 2-3 in conference action.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS
- Ella Rishko led the Blue Hens with five goals and an assist for six points, and had a career-high six caused turnovers, while adding four draw controls and three ground balls.
- Maggie Porter recorded a career-high three points with two goals and an assist.
- Morgan Gore scored two goals and added a career-high three caused turnovers and tied a personal best with four ground balls.
- Jaclyn Marszal finished with three points on a goal and two assists, and Maggie Craytor also tallied two goals.
- Lena Stolarick had a career-high four caused turnovers and tied her career high with four ground balls.
- Steph Marszal stopped six shots, tying her career high with a .667 save percentage.
- Delaware set season highs with 26 ground balls and 18 caused turnovers.
- The Blue Hens held a 16-5 advantage in draw controls
- Delaware was a perfect 21-of-21 in clear attempts, while holding KSU to just 16-of-26.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Delaware opened up a 3-0 lead with first-quarter goals from Sophia Muscolino, Rishko, and Gore.
- Porter added two quick tallies to extend the UD advantage to 5-0 with just under seven minutes left in the second quarter.
- The Hens' offense continued to roll as Craytor found the back of the net just 32 seconds later to make it 6-0.
- After the Owls got on the board, Rishko added her second of the game to restore the six-goal advantage.
- KSU made it 6-2 before Callie Drab scored with 16 seconds left to give UD an 8-2 lead at halftime.
- Gore got the Blue & Gold started in the second half with a free-position goal less than two minutes into the third quarter.
- Craytor added her second tally, before McKenzie Didio and J. Marszal converted back-to-back goals less than a minute apart to put the Hens up by 10.
- Rishko scored at the end of the third and early in the fourth quarter and Riley Sturtevant added her first of the game to add on to the Hens' offensive explosion.
- Rishko capped her day with her fifth goal in the final minutes to seal the 16-3 victory.
GAME NOTES
- Delaware extended its winning streak to eight games, the program's longest since winning 10-straight games between the 1999-2000 seasons.
- This is the second time this season UD has held its opponent to three goals, and the third time in head coach Amy Altig's tenure.
- Delaware extended its streak of scoring at least 13 goals to eight-straight games, which is the longest streak by a Delaware team since the 1999-2000 seasons.
- The Blue Hens recorded their highest totals in ground balls and caused turnovers since March 1, 2025 versus Wagner, when they had 32 and 18, respectively.
