University of Delaware Men's Golfers in Seventh Place Following First Day of Cornell Invitational

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The University of Delaware men's golf team sits in seventh place out of 15 teams on Saturday following the first day of the Cornell Invitational.
The Blue Hens carded rounds of 301 and 309 on Saturday, finishing the day with a two-round score of 610. Dartmouth leads the field with a 598 score, followed by Drexel at 599 and Longwood at 604.
Delaware freshman Kieran Purcell recorded a pair of 75 rounds on the par 71, 6,904-yard Robert Trent Jones Golf Course, ending the day tied for 15th in the individual standings with an eight over par 75-75-150. Fellow rookie Jack Gianniny fired two rounds of 76, as he is tied for 19th place at 76-76-152, 10 over par.
UD junior Kyle Martin shot a 12 over par 75-79-154 to end Saturday's action tied for 30th place, while classmate Colin McKenna is tied for 43rd place after carding a 15 over par 75-82-157. Blue Hen freshman Erik Dulik, who posted a 16 over par 79-79-158, will enter Sunday's action tied for 47th place.
Blake Carter of Longwood leads the field with a one over par 73-70-143, while Scott Jaster of Dartmouth is just one shot back.
Sunday's third and final round will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
