University of Delaware Men's Golfers in Eighth Place Following First Day of George Mason Patriot Intercollegiate

LORTON, Va. -- The University of Delaware men's golf team carded two sub-300 rounds on Sunday and currently sits in eighth place following the first day of the Patriot Intercollegiate hosted by George Mason.
The Blue Hens fired an opening round of 292 before a second round of 298, finishing the day with a two-round total of 590. Missouri leads the 17-team field with a 570 score, while Marshall is second at 573 and George Washington is third at 580.
Delaware freshman Jack Gianniny fired a one over par 70-73-143 during Sunday's action at the par 71, 7,010-yard Laurel Hill Golf Club course, ending the day tied for ninth place in the individual standings.
Freshman Kieran Purcell, who carded a 74-74-148, and senior Niño Rosal, who recorded a 73-75-148, are each tied for 32nd place after finishing the day at six over par. Freshman Blaine Lafferty, playing as an individual, is tied for 50th place after shooting an eight over par 72-78-150 on the day.
Freshman Erik Dulik is tied for 57th place following his nine over par day of 75-76-151, while junior Kyle Martin is tied for 85th place with a 15 over par 77-80-157.
Connor Walters of James Madison holds a one-shot lead over four players after carding a two under par 68-72-140 on Sunday.
The third and final round of the Patriot Intercollegiate will begin at 8:15 a.m. on Monday.
