Delaware Men in 13th Place After First Day of Arizona Intercollegiate

TUCSON, Ariz. -- The University of Delaware men's golf team posted team rounds of 302 and 293 on Monday as the Blue Hens concluded the first day of the Arizona Intercollegiate in 13th place.
No. 29 Arizona State leads the 15-team field with a two round score of 563, followed by 43rd-ranked Iowa State, UTEP, No. 20 New Mexico and the host Wildcats. Individuals from Iowa State, UTEP, Pepperdine and BYU were still on the course when play was suspended due to darkness, and will finish the second round Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. Mountain prior to the tournament's final round.
Blue Hen freshman Jack Gianniny carded a five over par 72-75-147 on the par 71 course at Sewailo Golf Club, ending the day tied for 40th place in the individual standings. Kyle Martin is tied for 48th place after his six over par day of 75-73-148, while Kieran Purcell fired a seven over par 76-73-149 to finish the day tied for 54th place.
Erik Dulik is tied for 63rd place following his nine over par 79-72-151, while Blaine Lafferty carded a 19 over par 84-77-161 to finish tied for 86th place.
Max Rottluff of Arizona State fired a seven under par 70-65-135 and will take a three-shot lead into Tuesday's action.
