Blue Hen Men's Golf Finishes in 15th Place at Arizona Intercollegiate

TUCSON, Ariz. -- The University of Delaware men's golf squad closed play at the Arizona Intercollegiate with a 303 team round on Tuesday to finish in 15th place at the tournament.
The Blue Hens finished with a three-round total of 898 at the prestigious tournament, which featured five teams ranked among the top 50 in the nation. No. 29 Arizona State claimed the team title with an 840 score, while UTEP was second at 851. McNeese State placed third at 856, while 21st-ranked California and No. 43 Iowa State tied for fourth with 857 scores.
UD junior Kyle Martin carded a three over par 74 during his final round on the par 71, 7,262-yard course at Sewailo Golf Club, finishing in a tie for 50th place in the individual standings with a nine over par 75-73-74-222. Freshman Jack Gianniny, who fired a 78 on Tuesday, tied for 64th place with a 12 over par 72-75-78-225.
Kieran Purcell tied for 71st place after carding a 15 over par 76-73-79-228, while Erik Dulik fired an 18 over par 79-72-80-231 to finish in 77th place. Blaine Lafferty had the best round of the day by a Blue Hen on Tuesday with a one over par 72, as he finished in 79th place with a 20 over par score of 84-77-72-233.
Max Rottluff of Arizona State earned medalist honors by shooting a 10 under par 70-65-68-203 to post a four-shot victory.
Delaware begins its spring season on Mar. 15-16 when the Blue Hens compete in the Appalachian State/Cape Fear Intercollegiate at Cape Fear Golf Club in Leland, N.C.
