NEWARK, Del. -- All kids 12 & younger were invited to wear their pajamas to the Universitwy of Delaware men's basketball game vs. St. Bonaventure on Tuesday, December 30 for the inaugural Jammin' Jammies Party at the Bob Carpenter Center.
Members of the Future Hens Club attended a pregame story time where author Dana Davis read her book “Hello, YoUDee!” about the mascot's adventures through campus. YoUDee joined the FHClub members wearing his own set of pajamas.
At halftime, all children in attendance who wanted to be a part of the Jammin' Jammies Dance Party were welcomed on-court by the Delaware Spirt squads. The kids, along with the mascots and members of the cheer and dance teams, danced and sang their best version of “Shake It Off.”
“I wish every night was Jammies Night,” said Cameron B, age 5. “This is the best night ever! I love the Blue Hens!”
Future Hens Club members also received vouchers for popcorn and hot chocolate to enjoy during the game.
