LYNCHBURG, Va. – The fall season came to a conclusion Friday morning for the University of Delaware women's tennis team as the Blue Hens completed singles play on the second day of the Women's ITA Atlantic Regional, hosted by Liberty University.
In the Round of 64, sophomore Arielle Shuren (Montebello, N.Y./Suffern) fell to Virginia Tech's Caroline Daxhelet, 6-4, 6-1.
With the loss, Shuren falls to 4-10 in singles action this season and 14-21 all-time for the Hens.
Delaware's doubles team of Shuren and freshman Sara Komer (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) were eliminated from the tournament Thursday.
“Arielle played a good match today. While the desired outcome was not what we had hoped for, she did reach some personal goals she had set for herself, which is a positive.”
