SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Junior Hannah Jardine (St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada/O'Donel) nearly doubled her season total while draining a career-high five 3-pointers en route to 23 points to lead the Blue Hens to a 62-50 win over North Dakota State in their final game of the San Diego State Thanksgiving Classic at Viejas Arena.
Jardine came into the game with a total of 24 points and six treys through four games played to shoot 9-of-11 from the field, including a mark of 5-of-7 from behind the arc, for her 23 points. The forward added seven rebounds, one assist, one blocked shot and one steal in 35 minutes of play.
Junior Erika Brown (Paterson, N.J./John F. Kennedy) added 15 points and six assists while freshman Hannah Friend (Farmington, Conn./Farmington) posted a season-best game with 10 points, two rebounds and a blocked shot. Friend was perfect from the floor, registering totals of 2-2 from the field (all 3-pointers) and 4-of-4 from the charity stripe.
Jardine opened the game with eight of Delaware's 14 points and guided the Blue Hens (3-2) to a game-high 16-point lead in the second quarter before holding 37-23 halftime advantage.
Marena Whittle collected 23 points and 10 rebounds while Brianna Jones notched 14 rebounds and 10 points for the Bison (2-4).
“I've talked to both Hannah [Jardine] and Courtni [Green] and they've been passing up shots this year. Both average double figures, but they've been tentative and I was very happy that both were more aggressive today. Hannah came out on fire, which is great to see because we needed that. Defensively, we were real solid today and overall we played a cleaner game. We needed this win after the tough loss to Wisconsin.

“When I was able to knock down a couple in the first quarter, my confidence grew. I was feeling confident and comfortable throughout the game. This has been a great trip for us. We were disappointed in the loss against Wisconsin, but that was a good game for us. It was great to come out today and get the win to wrap up our trip.”
