Blue Hen Rowing Concludes Fall Season at Head of the Occoquan Regatta

The University of Delaware women's rowing team concluded the fall schedule with a solid showing this weekend at the Head of the Occoquan Regatta on the Occoquan River.
UD had six crews competing in two races in the competition. In Delaware's first race of the competition, the Championship Eight event, the Blue Hens “A” crew led by coxswain Sarah Tenenbaum finished in first place with a time of 17:50.31. The Delaware “B” crew led by coxswain Alison Gibney was the next UD boat to finish. The “B” crew finished in sixth place with a time of 18.57.94.
The Delaware “C” crew was the next team to finish as the boat led by coxswain Kate Sneddon crossed the finish line with a final time of 19:46.11 and a 14th place finish. The Blue Hen “D” boat led by coxswain Katie Hewton recorded a time of 20:23.19 and finished in 17th place.
The second and final race the Blue Hens participated in at the Head of the Occoquan Regatta was the Novice Eights event.
The Delaware “A” squad led by coxswain Skylar Diberardinis finished in sixth place with a time of 20:38.55. The UD “B” crew led by coxswain Caroleena Goldman tallied a time of 21:51.07, which was good for a 9th place finish.
The Head of the Occoquan Regatta marked the end of the Delaware fall schedule. The Blue Hens will return for spring competition in March.
