McCartney Garners CAA Defensive Player of the Week Accolades

McCartney registered a career-best eight groundballs and seven caused turnovers in the Blue Hens' 14-5 win at Monmouth last Wednesday. The midfielder also got in on the scoring action and posted three goals and an assist for then No. 20 Delaware (5-1).
With her four points against the Hawks, McCartney moved into 14th place in the UD record books with 155 career points.
For the year, McCartney leads the Hens with 19 draw controls, 15 groundballs, and 11 caused turnovers. She is also second on the team with 18 goals (13th in the NCAA) and 22 points (23rd NCAA).
McCartney previously earned CAA Player of the Week honors on March 3.
Brittain Altomare (Hofstra) and Andi Raymond (Towson) shared CAA Player of the Week recognition while Elon's Kelsey Dupere was tabbed the Rookie of the Week.
Delaware, ranked No. 19 in the most recent IWLCA poll, travels to Villanova Wednesday for a 7 p.m. draw before hosting Temple Saturday at 3 p.m.
