Kirsten Hale Nabs Second CAA Defensive Player of the Week Award

RICHMOND, Va. – For the second time this season, University of Delaware sophomore Kirsten Hale (Wayne, Pa./Great Valley) earned Colonial Athletic Association Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week accolades, as announced by the conference Monday.
Hale helped lock down #rv Towson and George Washington in two wins last week for the Blue Hens. She tallied six groundballs, four caused turnovers, and three draw controls to hold opponents to a combined nine goals.
The midfielder is currently third for #rv Delaware (7-3, 1-0 CAA) with 15 groundballs, fifth with six caused turnovers, and sixth with six draw controls.
Hale was previously named the CAA Defensive Player of the Week on Feb. 17.
This week's CAA Player of the Week recognition went to William & Mary senior Ellen Shaffrey while Towson freshman Erika Cavallo was the Rookie of the Week.
The Blue Hens play their next two games on the road and travel to Canisius Wednesday before taking on No. 11 Princeton Saturday.
