ELKTON, Md. – The University of Delaware women's tennis team kicked off Colonial Athletic Association action Saturday evening with a 6-1 loss to James Madison University at Elkton Indoor Tennis.
Freshman Amanda Studnicki (Normal, Ill./Normal West) collected the Blue Hens' lone singles win of the evening with a 6-1, 4-6, 10-3 win over Sarah Khan in the sixth flight.
Delaware (3-4, 0-1 CAA) had two other singles matches conclude with three sets, but the Hens were unable to overcome the Dukes (9-6, 2-2 CAA), who also won the night's doubles point.
“We competed well this evening, but JMU came out on top. We had several matches that went long and that will help us as we continue CAA play.”
