CAA Lead up for Grabs as Undefeated Hens and Pride Clash Friday in Newark

B+ HERO DAY
Friday's game against Hofstra will be B+ Hero Day as the Blue Hens raise awareness for The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation. Fans are encouraged to support the team in their efforts by wearing yellow or gold to the game in recognition of childhood cancer awareness. The team's B+ Hero, Abby Supplee, will also be honored at halftime.

SERIES INFORMATION
· Delaware leads the all-time series, 18-10, over Hofstra since the inaugural matchup in 1979.
· A perennial pairing, the two teams have faced off in each of the last 19 seasons.
· The Blue Hens have won two straight over the Pride.
· In the last contest at Delaware Stadium, UD narrowly defeated HU, 7-5, in 2013.
· Last season, Delaware picked up a close, 8-7, victory over Hofstra in Hempstead, N.Y.
· Shannon Smith (Northwestern '12), a three-time first team All-American who is among the most decorated players in the sport, is now in her third season as the head coach at Hofstra. Smith is 26-22 during her tenure.
ABOUT HOFSTRA
The Blue Hens and Pride are the final two conference schools with unblemished records in league play at 2-0 apiece. Hofstra is coming off wins over No. 16 James Madison and William & Mary. Tiana Parrella and Brittain Altomare each tallied nine points in the wins while April Iannetta had 10 groundballs, seven caused turnovers and six draw controls. Altomare, a Tewaaraton Award Watch List selection, leads the CAA and is second nationally with 5.36 points and 2.82 assists per game and seventh with 5.91 draw controls per. Iannetta is ranked 10th in the NCAA with 3.09 groundballs per game. Kelsey Gregerson has started all 11 games this season for the Pride and has allowed 9.02 goals per game with 75 total saves.
