Blue Hens Return to Water to Compete in Prestigious Dad Vail Regatta

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – After a three week hiatus, the University of Delaware rowing team will return to the water Friday to compete in the 77th Dad Vail Regatta on the Schuylkill River.
The two-day event is one of the most prestigious rowing events in the country and features over 3,500 student-athletes from more than 120 colleges and universities in the U.S. and Canada. The squads will compete on Philadelphia's National Race Course on the Schuylkill River on Friday and Saturday.
Kevin GruberDelaware placed 19th overall in the Dad Vail team standings last season with five points. The Blue Hen effort in 2014 was highlighted by a fourth place finish from the UD Novice Eights crew. The effort marked the second time in three years the Novice Eights boat posted a fourth place finish in the event.
The finals on Saturday will be televised from 1-5 p.m. in the Philadelphia region on WPVI-TV and live streamed on 6abc.com and ESPN3.
The events will begin at 7 a.m. on both days of competition. The Delaware lineups for the Dad Vail Regatta are listed below.
