Griskowitz, a native of Newark, Del., served the previous three seasons at the program's director of operations, assisting with team travel, coordinating recruiting visits, working with UD compliance, business, and equipment departments, and assisting in scheduling of practices and competition.
Griskowitz earned her degree in sport management from Delaware in 2011, and earned her master's degree in public administration with a specialization in non-profit management this May.
Griskowitz was a three-year member of the volleyball team at nearby St. Mark's High School, leading the Spartans to a state title in 2006 and a state runner-up finish the following year. She served as a varsity assistant at her alma mater for four seasons, helping to lead the Spartans to state titles in 2010 and 2011. Additionally, Griskowitz served as the head coach of the freshman team and was a four-year assistant with the boys' volleyball team.
“Dana has been with the Delaware volleyball program for the last three seasons, and has played an integral role with our team,” Kenny said. “Her work ethic and passion for volleyball are just a few reasons for her hiring. She is a Blue Hen through and through, and I am excited for her to become a full-time member of our staff.”
“I'm extremely excited to switch roles to assistant coach and contribute to the success of the program in a different way,” Griskowitz stated. “It's been an honor being a part of Delaware volleyball the past three years, and I want to thank Coach Kenny for this great opportunity.”
Toron, a native of Fair Lawn, N.J., graduated from UD this spring with a degree in political science, and served as a volunteer assistant coach with the program last season. Toron helped create and implement practice plans, provided technical feedback for Blue Hen setters during training sessions, and assisted with coding sequences during matches. He has also served as a male practice player during Delaware practices.
Toron has also participated in college volleyball camps at Delaware, North Carolina, Texas and Villanova over the past two years, and previously was a two-year assistant coach with the boys' and girls' volleyball teams at Fair Lawn High School.
“Brian is a Blue Hen alum, and is an avid volleyball person who loves the game and Delaware volleyball,” Kenny said. “We look for Brian to step into the operations position and experience another aspect of running a Division I program.
“I am ecstatic about having a full staff that loves the University of Delaware and the volleyball program. It is a tremendous asset for our student-athletes to have a staff that is totally committed to them on and off the court.”
