Blue Hens Host #r/v Columbia Saturday

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware men's soccer team will face its first ranked opponent this season as the Blue Hens host #r/v Columbia Saturday at 7 p.m. at Stuart & Suzanne Grant Stadium.

Admission is free and open to the public for all home regular season Delaware men's soccer games held at Stuart & Suzanne Grant Stadium.
BROADCAST 🎥
For the first time ever, Saturday's game will be broadcast live in Spanish via Hens All-Access. The production will be completely in Spanish from the play-by-play to commercials to graphics. Additionally, the game will be broadcast for free, in high definition, and on mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets while an archive of the broadcast will be available on the Delaware Athletics YouTube page the following day. This is believed to be the first broadcast of its kind in HD and on the east coast. Former Delaware standout and All-CAA selection and current assistant coach Roberto Giménez will do play-by-play for the stream while Diego Ruiz will serve as color analyst. Hens All-Access correspondent Richie Raspa will provide pre-game insight.

Following a game in which the Hens tallied its most goals of the season, Iona College held the Delaware scoreless in a 3-0 decision Wednesday evening at Mazzella Field. Marco Siverio led the Blue Hens (3-2-1) with three shots, including two on goal. Carlos Perales, Guillermo Delgado and Jaime Martinez each posted two shoes for Delaware. Blai Palmí five saves for Delaware.
HEN SCRATCHINGS
· Guillermo Delgado is tied for third place in school history with 70 career points alongside John Petito (1978-82).
· Delgado's 31 goals are third-most in school history and four shy of second place, currently held by John McCloskey (1975-78).
· Delgado posted the sixth multi-goal game of his career against Lehigh and currently leads the Hens with four goals (18th nationally) this season.
· With 12 career assists, Joe Dipre is tied for eighth all-time in program history with John McCloskey (1975-78) and Roger Morley (1966-68).
· This season is the 90th overall in program history. In the previous 89 seasons, UD has compiled a record of 425-648-103 (.361) with three 10-plus-win seasons in the last four years.
· A five-year veteran of Major League Soccer and former top assistant at Boston College, Kevin Anderson (South Connecticut State '92) took the helm of the Columbia men's soccer program in January 2009. Now in his ninth season with the Lions, Anderson has posted a career-mark of 40-49-14.

The Lions, who enter the match a week after defeating No. 18 Providence, are currently 3-0-0 on the year. Columbia is currently receiving votes in the NCAA Top 25 poll and defeated the Friars, 2-1, in double overtime. Andrew Tinari provided the game-winning goal for the Lions just 26 seconds into the extra stanza. Rhys Williams was named the Ivy League Player of the Week after tallying a goal against Marist and an assist versus Providence. Kyle Jackson has played all 280-plus minutes in the net for the Lions and has allowed just one goal through three games with 12 saves.
