Blue Hens Open 2015 Fall Campaign This Weekend at PSU Nittany Lion Invitational

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The University of Delaware women's golf team will kick off its 2015 fall season this Saturday and Sunday when the Blue Hens compete in the 39th annual Nittany Lion Invitational hosted by Penn State.
The tournament, which will be played on the PSU Blue Course, features 36 holes on Saturday and 18 on Sunday, with shotgun starts at 9 a.m. both days. In addition to Delaware and Penn State, the eight-team field also includes Rutgers, William & Mary, Albany, Randolph-Macon, Towson and Youngstown State.
Andi SlaneSlane, a redshirt senior who posted a school-record 75.62 average round a year ago, will lead the Blue Hens from the No. 1 spot at this weekend's tournament. Senior Nathalie Filler, the program's other medalist as she won the Towson Tignanelli Invitational last September, will play in the second position this weekend.
Junior Vitoria Teixeira will be UD's third player after averaging 78.73 shots per round a year ago while senior Vimonthip Benjasupawan, who appeared in all 10 invitationals last season with a 77.52 stroke average, will be the Blue Hens' fourth player.
UD sophomore Rachel Lee, who ranked third on the squad with a 76.54 average round during her rookie campaign, will play from the fifth spot, while freshman Ashley Dingman will make her Blue Hen debut from the sixth position.
Emma Sills, Grace Chua and Marie Bogenez will play as individuals for Delaware at the tournament.Following the Nittany Lion Invitational, Delaware heads to the Diane Thomason/Iowa Invitational next weekend at Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City, Iowa. Three weeks later the Blue Hens head north to again participate in the Princeton Invitational at Springdale Golf Course on Oct. 3-4, before a trip to the Rutgers Invitational on Oct. 16-17.
The following weekend UD will host the third annual University of Delaware Invitational, held on Oct. 24-25 at Rehoboth Beach Country Club.
