CAA Honors Casey Lyons as Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – Delaware senior Casey Lyons (Georgetown, Ontario, Canada/Berkshire) was named Monday as the CAA Player of the Week, as announced by the conference.
Lyons put up huge numbers in a pair of Blue hens victories last week, totaling six goals, eight assists, two groundballs and a caused turnover.
In Wednesday's 14-7 win over Villanova, Lyons posted a career-best and Delaware Stadium record six assists in addition to a goal. She followed with a season-high five goals to go along with two assists Saturday as the Hens defeated Monmouth, 14-11.
Lyons currently leads the CAA and is sixth across NCAA Division I with 5.0 points per game. The attacker is also fifth nationally with 2.71 assists per contest.
Towson's Kaitlyn Montalbano was named the CAA Defensive Player of the Week while teammate Carly Tellekamp was honored as the Rookie of the Week.
Delaware hits the road this week with contests at Temple (Wednesday, 3 p.m.) and at Stony Brook (Saturday, 1 p.m.).
