Erin Wein Collects CAA Defensive Player of the Week Accolades

RICHMOND, Va. – The Colonial Athletic Association recognized Blue Hens senior Erin Wein Monday as its Defensive Player of the Week.
The defender from Middletown, Md. (Middletown) paced No. rv/rv Delaware (8-2) this week with eight caused turnovers and five groundballs as the Hens went 1-1 against No. rv/--Temple (W, 10-4) and No. 10/11 Stony Brook (L, 8-7).
Wein currently leads the CAA and is sixth in the NCAA Division I rankings with 2.7 caused turnovers per game for at total of 27 through 10 contests played.
UD's career record holder, Wein has registered 114 caused turnovers all-time in addition to 108 groundballs.
William & Mary's Shannon Quinn and Maddie Torgerson garnered Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week honors, respectively.
The Blue Hens open conference play this Saturday by traveling to Towson for a noon draw.
