Delaware Surges Into Lead, Slane Tied for First at CAA Women's Golf Championship

Andi Slane moved into a tie for first place in the individual standings following Saturday's round at the Colonial Athletic Association Championship.
Delaware, which entered the day tied for fourth place, carded the lowest team round of the day and holds a one-shot lead over UNCW heading into Sunday's final round. The Blue Hens have a two-round total of 621, followed by the Seahawks at 622, Charleston at 626, Elon at 627 and William & Mary at 629.
Slane, looking to defend her conference title, posted a one under par 71 on the par 72, 6,066-yard Reserve Club course at St. James Plantation during her round, tied for the lowest on the day. She has carded a four over par 77-71-148 through two rounds, tied with William & Mary's Alessandra Liu, who has recorded a 76-72-148.
After parring the first four holes on Saturday, Slane birdied 5 and 6 to move to two under for the day. She bogeyed 8, but responded with 10 consecutive pars to finish her round at one under. Meanwhile fellow senior Nathalie Filler fired a one over par 73 during her round, as she sits in third place three shots behind Slane and Liu with a seven over par 78-73-151. Filler birdied 5, 7 and 13 while adding 11 pars on her day.
Vitoria Teixeira is tied for 18th place with a 17 over par 86-75-161 for the Blue Hens, Vimonthip Benjasupawan has carded a 21 over par 82-83-165 to reside in 30th place, and Grace Chua sits in 33rd place with a 23 over par 88-79-167.
The third and final round of the tournament will begin at 8 a.m. on Sunday, with the winning team earning an automatic berth to the NCAA Championship.
