Delaware Varsity Eights, Second Varsity Eights Defeat Lehigh

PHILADELPHIA -- The University of Delaware Varsity Eights and Second Varsity Eights each defeated Lehigh as the Blue Hen rowing team faced the Mountain Hawks, Navy and Temple Saturday on the Schuylkill River.
The UD Varsity Eights boat won its race with a time of 6:46.76, ahead of Lehigh which posted a time of 6:55.90. The Second Varsity Eights caputred its event by finishing in 7:11.03, while the Mountain Hawks recorded a 7:23.46 time.
The Varsity Fours boat finished third in its race with a time of 7:47.73, finishing behind Navy in 7:30.19 and Temple in 7:39.98.
In the Third Varsity Eights race, the Blue Hen Novice Eights finished in third place in 7:09.19 while the Third Novice Eights were fourth in 7:16.14.
Delaware's Second Varsity Eights came in third in its race with a time of 8:10.76, behind Navy in 7:37.73 and Temple in 7:50.99.
The Blue Hens return to the water on May 13-14 when they compete in the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia.
